NIKE REVEAL LIVERPOOL'S THIRD KIT
Liverpool FC’s 21/22 Third kit draws inspiration from one of the most iconic stands in football, The Kop and the community who have become the authentic voice of Liverpool Football Club.
Over the years The Kop became the tapestry that told the story of Liverpool Football Club. A community that made banners, flags, fanzines, and chants that travelled the world over, much to the envy of other clubs. It brought back stories and cultural influences that became staples on football terraces.
The bold yellow jersey is representative of the club’s rich history in the colour. The red-and-yellow chequered trim on the collar draws on the passion of The Kop and the flags that fill the stands, while pinstripes highlight the tight bond between the club and its community.
On the nape of the neck, the 96-emblem encased by the eternal flames sits proudly in memory of the 96 children, women and men who lost their lives at Hillsborough. For the 2022-23 season, the 96 emblem will change to 97 in recognition of Andrew Devine, the 97th person unlawfully killed as a result of the Hillsborough disaster. Unfortunately, it was not possible to change the emblems for the 2021-22 campaign.
The new Liverpool FC Third kit that players will wear on the pitch as well as the replica jerseys for the fans are constructed with 100% recycled polyester fabric, which is made from recycled plastic bottles. This creates the kits that helps deliver peak performance with a lower impact on the environment.
The 21/22 Liverpool FC Third kit will be available to Nike Members from 8 September from nike.com and on full retail from 14 September.
