BT Sport is set for its biggest season of women’s football yet, with more matches than ever before plus broadcasts from Premier League grounds which will be made available for all to watch for free.
This coming season, BT Sport will broadcast at least 30 live women’s football matches including the Lionesses, Barclays FA Women’s Super League, FA Women’s Continental League Cup and the Women’s FA Cup. Coverage also includes exclusively live broadcasts of the US National Women’s Soccer League, featuring stars from this summer’s USA winning squad.
BT Sport today confirms details of its first four live Barclays FA WSL matches. Opening its coverage will be the Manchester derby, live from the Etihad Stadium on Saturday 7 September on BT Sport 1. Viewers can also look forward to a London derby played at the London Stadium, with West Ham United hosting Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 29 September also on BT Sport 1. Building on its commitment to women’s sport, this season BT Sport will make selected Barclays FA WSL matches available to anyone in the UK for free, on btsport.com, the BT Sport App, the BT Sport Twitter feed (@btsport) and Virgin TV, starting with Manchester City v Manchester Utd this Saturday.
BT Sport’s women’s football coverage will be led by presenters Clare Balding, Jules Breach and Reshmin Chowdhury, alongside former England internationals Karen Carney, Rachel Brown Finnis and Sue Smith, with commentators including Adam Summerton and Lucy Ward.
