New Balance launches limited edition Centennial jersey for Costa Rica National Teams.

History on the skin! New Balance launches jersey alluding to the Centennial of Fedefútbol.

In celebration of the first 100 years of federated soccer in Costa Rica, the National Teams will wear a special limited edition jersey designed by the company New Balance.

The announcement of the clothing was be made Sunday, June 13, the exact date on which the Costa Rican Football Federation commemorates its Centennial, which will be celebrated with a match between the Costa Rican and Guatemalan women's teams at the National Stadium, where the jersey had its debut.

The shirt is blue, the same colour used by the first national representation that was formed to play a Central American tournament in Guatemala, in 1921.

Like other New Balance uniforms for Costa Rica (motivated by the country's renowned biodiversity), the Centenario jersey is partially made with recycled materials. Its fabric is made with NB Dry technology, which offers quick drying and guarantees optimal performance for players on the field. With elegant elements, it also presents a shield that evokes important dates in its history.

Rodolfo Villalobos, President of the Costa Rica Football Federation, assured that this clothing is an essential component in the celebrations for the hundred years. "We are very pleased to present the official Centennial jersey, which combines valuable elements such as the historical richness of our football and our attachment to the conservation of nature, a value that is rooted in the Costa Rican people and our organization."

Vitor Abreu, New Balance Manager of Sports Marketing for Latin America, stated: "It is an honor for New Balance to have the opportunity to participate in that historical moment of football in Costa Rica. A history that served as inspiration for a limited edition design, combining passion and tradition in a modern and technological representation. We hope that the national team players feel inspired to continue building that story with new chapters".

The Men's National Team will also use this design as an alternative uniform during the next Gold Cup, which will be held in the United States in July. In this way, national soccer representations will carry on their skin this New Balance tribute to the history of Costa Rican football.
