Nike have released Chelsea’s 2019-20 kit, which is inspired by their iconic stadium: Stamford Bridge.
The Bridge, which the Blues have called home since 1905, is woven into the fabric of the new kit and the classic Chelsea blue jersey is covered in an all-over graphic comprising imagery of the Matthew Harding Stand, the East and West Stands and the famous Shed End.
Here are some more details on the design below:
The Bridge is the focal point of the design process and Nike’s team captured images from inside the stadium which would eventually merge and become the overall aesthetic.
- The Stamford Bridge-themed shirt features a stylish V-neck, while a red and white ‘CFC’ monogram decorates the back of the collar.
- The shorts are also blue and the head-to-toe look is completed by white socks which boast a traditional Chelsea red and blue trim midway up the calf.
- Inside the shirt, a Lion borrowed from the club crest is featured with the ‘PRIDE OF LONDON’ written around it, symbolising the Blues mantra and what they represent.
The new 2019/20 Chelsea home kit will be worn for the first time on May 4th during the club’s final league home game of the season. It will be available for sale May 2 on nike.com/Chelsea and at the Stamford Bridge Megastore.
