SEASON REVIEW - The 1988/89 season was a historic one for Arsenal Football Club as they won the English First Division title (now known as the Premier League) for the first time in 18 years. The team led by manager George Graham, finished top of the league with 76 points. Key players for Arsenal during this season included, Tony Adams and Steve Bould, who formed a solid central defence partnership, midfielder Michael Thomas, who was a key player in the midfield, and forward Alan Smith who scored 25 goals in all competitions. The team also had key contributions from players such as David Rocastle, Paul Merson and Nigel Winterburn.
