As part of The FA’s 21 Days of Positivity campaign, which launched last month, The FA has been sharing thank you messages from England Stars across its social media channels.
After helping to dismantle Chelsea yesterday, Raheem Sterling also found time over the weekend to thank the positive role models in his life – praising his mum and former coach, Clive Ellington, for all the support they’ve given him over his career so far.

21 Days of Positivity is part of The FA’s wider Respect campaign which seeks to improve touchline and on-pitch behaviour in youth football across the country. Research from The FA shows that 90% of youth footballers perform better with positive encouragement. The campaign asks parents and coaches involved in youth football to commit to being positive in their approach and to share their positive stories on social media with #WeOnlyDoPositive.
