How do the Mexico 98 reissue shirts fit?
They have an authentic 90s-style boxy fit, with longer sleeves and a slightly shorter body. If you're taller, broader or prefer a looser fit, we'd recommend sizing up.

Are these shirts official?
Yes. Every shirt is officially produced by ABA Sport in Mexico specifically for Cult Kits. These are genuine ABA Sport reissues, not unofficial replicas or reproductions.
Why doesn't the World Cup version have the ABA Sport watermark?
For the 1998 World Cup, FIFA regulations meant ABA Sport couldn't use the repeated manufacturer branding seen on other versions of the shirt. The World Cup edition therefore has a cleaner design without the all-over ABA Sport watermark.
Is the Mexican flag on the sleeve hand-painted?
The original 1998 World Cup shirts featured a hand-painted Mexican flag. The reissue recreates the same look using a more durable application, making it much better suited to regular wear and washing.
Are there different versions of the Mexico 98 shirt?
Yes. Alongside the iconic green home shirt, ABA Sport produced designs including the white away and darker third shirt. There's also an officially released Blackout edition, which gives the famous 1998 design an all-black treatment.
Are these exact copies of the original shirts?
The reissues stay very close to the original design while making small practical changes for modern wear. The famous Aztec Sun Stone graphic, colours and unmistakable late-90s shape remain at the heart of the shirt.

The Mexico 1998 home shirt became something bigger.
Originally designed by ABA Sport for the World Cup in France, the shirt mixed Mexico’s traditional green with a huge Aztec-inspired graphic across the front. Loud, detailed and completely different from anything else on the pitch, it quickly became one of the defining 90s football shirts of the era.
Now it’s back.
These official Mexico 1998 reissue shirts have been produced by ABA Sport exclusively for Cult Kits, giving fans and collectors the chance to own an authorised recreation of one of the most sought-after designs in international football. They’re available in a range of sizes, but quantities are limited.
The original shirt is closely tied to a brilliant generation of El Tri players. Cuauhtémoc Blanco, Luis Hernández and Claudio Suárez all wore the famous green design as Mexico reached the Round of 16 at France ’98, while Jorge Campos added even more colour to a squad already packed with personality.
And then there’s the design itself.
The oversized motif drew on Mexico’s pre-Hispanic visual culture and turned a national team shirt into something instantly recognisable far beyond football. More than 25 years later, it still looks bold.
That’s why the shirt keeps coming back into conversations about the greatest World Cup kits ever made.
