The Brazilian national football team is controlled by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). One of the most successful teams in international football, Brazil have won the FIFA World Cup a record five times and have also won nine Copa America titles, as well as four FIFA Confederation Cups.

In total, he won five major international titles with Brazil.

At the individual level, Ronaldo was awarded the Golden Boot award as the top scorer at the 2002 World Cup, where he scored eight goals, including both goals in the final against Germany, going level with Pelé's World Cup record of 12 goals.
