AN N17 INSPIRED JERSEY CELEBRATING THE VIBRANCY OF THE LOCAL AREA – Tottenham Hotspur’s 2021/22 Third Kit is inspired by young people from the local community, following creative and training workshops with Tottenham Textiles.
Alongside the Nike Design team, a group of eight young creatives were mentored through a workshop whereby the individuals expressed through prototyping, what Tottenham as an area means to them. This collective creative vision has been brought to life throughout the entire collection through bold prints, pattern and use of colour.
The design celebrates the vibrancy of the club’s N17 neighbourhood in London. The bold purple is featured in the shorts and socks while the N17 logo inside the collar means home is never far away.
The new Tottenham Hotspur Third kit that players will wear on the pitch as well as the replica jerseys for the fans, are constructed with 100% recycled polyester fabric, which is made from recycled plastic bottles.
As part of Nike’s wider Move to Zero initiative – a journey towards zero carbon and zero waste – Nike are focused in scaling the usage of lower-carbon material alternatives. Recycled polyester reduces carbon emissions by up to 30% compared to virgin polyester and that’s why since 2010 Nike has been using rPoly to produce football kits.
Tottenham Hotspur is equally dedicated to minimising the environmental impacts of its activities across all Club operations and was this year named the Premier League’s greenest club following a study carried out by BBC Sport and the UN-backed Sport Positive Summit.
