Catalan brand MEYBA step into the club shirt game with their first offering, as the kit supplier to US team Las Vegas Lights FC.
Meyba, are a brand with some heritage. The list of icons who wore the Catalan brand is a who’s who of football. Let’s start with Cruyff...I’ll raise you a Maradona, throw in a Guardiola or Laudrup and you get the idea. The brand, who have dressed the likes of F.C Barcelona for a decade – including the historic win of their first European Cup with the Dream Team, is back in the game and making a splash.
Under the tutelage of kit guru, Neal Heard (Creative Director, Meyba) the brand look to the future. Meyba intend to play a big part in pro football team supply, aiming to disrupt the market by tapping into their knowledge and understanding of the continued fusion between football and fashion.
So, here it is... their first pro club signing of the come back era, one the brand deliberately chose as a statement of intent – meet The Las Vegas Lights!
The Lights play in the USL Championship Stateside, operating with the appropriate ethos and attitude for a club playing out of the iconic city of Las Vegas.
The Lights new season kicks off this March the 12th where the team will wear one of the two kits, offerings supplied by Meyba. The home kit, paying homage to the cities infamous lurid lighting, the away picking up on the home states dry desert and wind eroded contours.
Both finished off with front of jersey sponsors, Coin Cloud, and the kits are things of beauty. The newly Meyba decked out Lights kick off their new season this coming Sunday the 13th of Feb against New Mexico Utd, which is being shown live on ESPN Plus.
