Shunsuke Nakamura is widely regarded as one of the greatest players to have ever played for Yokohama F. Marinos. He joined the clubs senior team in 1997 after playing for the youth team in the early 90s before joining Toko Gakuen high school, he went on to make 338 appearances for the club over two separate stints. Nakamura was a key player for the club, helping them win J League Cup in 2001 and the Emperor's Cup in 2013.
Shunsuke's incredible passing ability, vision, and free-kick taking made him a fan favourite at Yokohama F. Marinos. After retiring from professional football in 2018, Nakamura is considered a club legend by Yokohama F. Marinos supporters.
