The adidas Predator is an institution in its own right in football, isn’t it. With its devoted followers in the millions. With us all first dazzled back in the mid 90’s by a boot with a form of ’teeth’ covering them. Well, some 24 years later, adidas set the Predator cult alive again with their latest release tease.
When?! We hear you cry? Well if the adidas Instagram account is to be believed, 21st January is a date you’ll want to book off and have your credit cards at the ready for.
The Predator 20 is set to feature the return of the rubber teeth – 406 to be exact, although the experts are calling them the game-changing spikes. Traditionally placed in the forefoot – the Predator 20 has brought back the feature that previous Predator boot additions have over-looked. What fools.
“Who said anything about fair” – a play on the original advertising slogan “100% legal, 0% fair”, accompanies this Predator 20 release – something that will resonate with Predator cult.
Based on the video released it looks like fans are set to see the Predator 20 with a Primeknit upper, 406 teeth, (sorry, spikes) that will protrude through the material, with a black and red colourway – let’s hope for a dash of white as well to really emphasise the 90’s vibe.
