Off the playing field, Mings is known for giving back to the community through the Tyrone Mings Academy. It provides professional football coaching for children of all abilities aged between 6-16 in the South West and Midlands. Mitre is supporting the academy with its latest footballs and equipment in a collective effort to help bring accessibility and enjoyment to the next generation.

Putting pen to paper with Mitre, Mings said:

“In my opinion, you can’t talk about English football and all its history without talking about Mitre. It’s always been a brand that has been at the heart of the game.

“Some of my earliest memories of playing football as a kid at Chippenham, were with Mitre balls and together, we are committed to getting even more kids playing football for the love of the game.”

Simon Breckon, Global Brand Director at Mitre adds: “We’re over the moon to be partnering with Tyrone. He encapsulates everything we stand for as a brand and his history of playing with Mitre throughout the years, makes him the ideal ambassador to help us build even greater awareness of the brand.

“As an influential player both on and off the pitch, he shares our values, and we’re looking forward to supporting his own ambitions through the Tyrone Mings Academy.”
