The Ten Best South American Kits

The Ten Best South American Kits

We love a South American kit over at Cult Kits and with the spate of releases for the new season finally dying down we thought we’d take a look over which - in our opinion - have really stood out among the crowd.

We’ve combed through this summers releases to get together our ten favourites from what has truly been a strong year for South American kits.

10 Bahia LGBTricolor

While we’ve seen a number of rainbow kits in the last few years Brazil’s most progressive club have absolutely nailed it with their effort.

Take a look at our brazilian shirts here!

9. Atletico Nacional home

Colombia’s Atletico Nacional have kept things traditional with white and green stripes and of course Postobon - a combo that looks as good now as it did 20 years ago.

8. Lanus away 2021

After years of looking great on Sassuolo tops is good to see Mapei branching out. Both Lanus’ home and away kits are great but the away gets the nod here.

7. Penarol 130th anniversary kit

Anniversary and throwback kits tend to be great and Penarol have released a definite winner with this lace collard effort - the release commemorates 130 years since the clubs foundation.

6. Boca home

Inspired by the 1981 kit worn by Diego Maradona in his first stint at the club -

Boca have ditched their badge in favour of four stars bearing the clubs initials.

Take a look at our Boca Junior shirts here!

5. Colo-Colo

Colo-Colo celebrate the 30th anniversary of their 1991 Copa Libertadores triumph with a great looking tweaked version of the sides 21/22 home shirt.

4. Cruzeiro 2021 away

An elegant and pared back design with the added bonus that the fan replica shirts aren’t plastered with sponsors.

3. Corinthians home

This season will see Corinthians wearing a beautiful design said to be inspired by the cracked streets of Rio.

2. Newell’s third - Maradona tribute

The shirts excellent glitchy pattern is inspired by a painting given to Maradona by Newell’s back in 2019. The Argentine is still a hero at the club despite having played just five times.

1. Atletico Mineiro

Football shirt Twitter went into a collective meltdown when Atletico Mineiro teased this stunning fan made design. The shirt features a large map of the region and some truly beautiful details.
